Toastmasters - Officer's Training Program at HCL Technologies 2024

On July 14th, 2024, we had our Officer's Training Program for Divisions G, H, and I at HCL Technologies, Sholinganallur. It was a fantastic opportunity for Toastmasters from three different divisions to connect and network.

As the Area Director, I was thrilled to meet the excomm officers of my area in person for the first time. One of the highlights was meeting the officers of the newly chartered 'Wood India Toastmasters Club' (Ascendas Chennai) the only corporate club in my area. Although I always got updates about the demo meetings, education sessions, role players, speakers, and club chartering from my friend TM Suhasini the club mentor, meeting them in person was a unique experience.

The ex-comm team shared their excitement and positive experiences about their meetings. The club secretary mentioned that within three months of joining Toastmasters, she felt connected with everyone in the office, which helped her immensely in her daily work.

This sentiment reminded me of a similar experience shared by a member of Preludesys Toastmasters Club at Siruseri, a club I’ve been mentoring for the past four months in Division A.

This highlights that having a Toastmasters club within an organization goes beyond personal development; it fosters team-building and enhances daily work interactions.

I also had the pleasure of meeting with members of the 'Hillview Toastmasters Club', who are enthusiastic about their roles this term. Additionally, reconnecting with my home club, 'Madras Toastmasters', known for its rich legacy, was inspiring. The current ex-comm team is dedicated to elevating meeting quality and member experience to new heights. Though our time together was wonderful, we missed capturing a group selfie this time with these two clubs :(

Meeting the excomm team and hearing their stories underscored the invaluable impact of Toastmasters both in the workplace and within our community. I am excited to see how these clubs will continue to grow and impact their members and organizations.
