When I took up club mentoring a few months ago, I had no idea of the exciting adventures and fascinating people I was about to meet. It turned out to be the most satisfying role I have ever undertaken in my 9 years in Toastmasters. Initially, I thought I would share the knowledge I had gained over the years, but I ended up learning far more than I gave. Every protégé, member, and educational speaker had something valuable to teach me.
I had no idea that TM Prathiba, the Division Director; TM Bharath, the Area Director; and my fellow club mentor, TM Badri, would become my good friends during this journey. They were amazing people to work with. The management and members of Preludesys Club1 Ignite, a corporate Toastmasters club, extended warm hospitality to us and showed great faith in Toastmasters. Within a few months, the confidence exhibited by some of the members was unbelievable, thanks to their enthusiasm and the support from the management. Now, we have this club chartered and proudly displayed on the dashboard. I am forever thankful to DTM Gayathri, the District Director of District 120, for this opportunity.
