Crochet - Halloween Costume Accessories

1. Witch Hat Headband



Materials:

  • Black worsted weight yarn

  • Green yarn (for decoration)

  • 4mm crochet hook

  • Yarn needle

  • Headband (to attach the hat to)

Pattern (Witch Hat):

  1. Magic Ring: With black yarn, make a magic ring.

  2. Round 1: 6 SC into the magic ring. (6)

  3. Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around. (12)

  4. Round 3: 1 SC in next stitch, 2 SC in next repeat around. (18)

  5. Round 4: 1 SC in next 2 stitches, 2 SC in next repeat around. (24)

  6. Round 5-8: SC in each stitch around. (24)

  7. Round 9: 1 SC in next 3 stitches, 2 SC in next repeat around. (30)

  8. Round 10-12: SC in each stitch around. (30)

  9. Round 13: 1 SC in next 4 stitches, 2 SC in next repeat around. (36)

  10. Round 14-16: SC in each stitch around. (36)

  11. Round 17: SC2tog all around. (18)

  12. Round 18: SC2tog all around. (9)

  13. Fasten off and stuff lightly.

Brim of the Hat:

  1. Attach to the bottom edge of the hat. SC around the base of the hat to create the brim.

  2. Round 1: 1 SC in next stitch, CH 1 repeat around. (18 loops)

  3. Round 2: SC in each chain space around. (18)

Decoration:

  1. Chain 20 with green yarn, SC in each chain starting from the second chain from the hook.

  2. Attach the chain to the base of the hat with a yarn needle.

Assembly:

  1. Sew the hat to a headband. Ensure it is securely attached.




2. Pumpkin Scarf



Materials:

  • Orange worsted weight yarn

  • Green yarn (for leaves)

  • 4mm crochet hook

  • Yarn needle

Pattern (Pumpkin Body):

  1. Chain 30.

  2. Row 1: SC in each chain from the second chain from the hook. (29)

  3. Rows 2-15: SC in each stitch across. (29)

  4. Fasten off.

Leaves (Make 2):

  1. Chain 10.

  2. Row 1: SC in each chain starting from the second chain from the hook. (9)

  3. Row 2: SC2tog, SC in next 5 stitches, SC2tog (7)

  4. Row 3: SC2tog, SC in next 3 stitches, SC2tog (5)

  5. Fasten off and sew to the scarf.

Stem:

  1. Chain 10.

  2. SC in each chain starting from the second chain from the hook.

  3. Attach to the scarf with a yarn needle.

Assembly:

  1. Sew the leaves and stem to one end of the scarf.


3. Spider Web Shawl



Materials:

  • Black worsted weight yarn

  • 4mm crochet hook

  • Yarn needle

Pattern:

  1. Chain 50.

  2. Row 1: SC in each chain from the second chain from the hook. (49)

  3. Row 2: CH 1, turn, SC in each stitch across. (49)

  4. Row 3: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC), turn, DC in next stitch, CH 1 repeat across. (24 loops)

  5. Row 4: DC in next chain space, CH 2 repeat across. (24 loops)

  6. Row 5-6: SC in each chain space around. (24 loops)

  7. Fasten off.

Web Pattern:

  1. Chain 10 and attach to the shawl to create a web-like pattern.

  2. SC or DC to create connecting lines between loops.

Assembly:

  1. Weave in ends and block the shawl to enhance the web shape.


4. Bat Wing Arm Warmers



Materials:

  • Black worsted weight yarn

  • 4mm crochet hook

  • Yarn needle

Pattern (Arm Warmers):

  1. Chain 40.

  2. Row 1: SC in each chain from the second chain from the hook. (39)

  3. Rows 2-30: SC in each stitch across. (39)

  4. Fasten off and fold the piece in half.

Wings (Make 2):

  1. Chain 20.

  2. Row 1: SC in each chain starting from the second chain from the hook. (19)

  3. Row 2: SC2tog, SC in next 7 stitches, SC2tog (9)

  4. Row 3: SC2tog all around. (5)

  5. Fasten off and sew wings to the arm warmers.

Assembly:

  1. Sew the folded piece to form a tube.

  2. Attach the wings to the sides.


5. Vampire Cape



Materials:

  • Black and red worsted weight yarn

  • 4mm crochet hook

  • Yarn needle

Pattern (Cape Body):

  1. Chain 60.

  2. Row 1: SC in each chain from the second chain from the hook. (59)

  3. Rows 2-30: SC in each stitch across. (59)

  4. Fasten off.

Collar (Red Yarn):

  1. Chain 20.

  2. Row 1: SC in each chain from the second chain from the hook. (19)

  4. Fasten off and sew to the neckline of the cape.

Assembly:
