Sometimes a casual chat can lead to a great revelation.
A few days ago, one evening, I was having coffee with members of a newly chartered corporate club I’ve been mentoring. The cafeteria was bustling with people, and it was a busy hour. We grabbed our coffee and started our conversation.

During our chat, one member shared something revelatory. He said, "I've been with this organization for a while, but I only knew people from my team. Collaborating with other teams for work was challenging because I didn’t know anyone outside my team. However, in just three months with Toastmasters, I feel like I know many people now. Getting work done with other teams has become much easier, and I look forward to coming to the office because it feels like home with so many familiar faces."
Although I knew this was one of the benefits of having a club in an organization, hearing this feedback directly from a beneficiary made me feel delighted to have played a small role in this transformation.
